US Wireless Vendor, Mimosa, will unveil itsr new Micro Point-of-Presence (MicroPoP) network solution at iWeek, South Africa’s leading annual Internet Service Provider industry conference taking place from the 19 – 23 September 2016 at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mimosa’s MicroPoP architecture combines a new A5 access point (AP) operating in the 5GHz WiFi band and the C5 client device. The Mimosa A5 AP features unique quad-sector antennas and massive MIMO technology. This enables it to deliver ‘industry-leading performance’ high density short-range multipoint broadband applications, enabling fixed wireless Internet service providers to deliver cheap and easy to install gigabit wireless broadband to densely populated urban and suburban areas.

“Until now there hasn’t been a broadband solution that can be rapidly and cost-effectively deployed in urban densities, and provide the high level of performance required to deliver next-generation internet applications,” said Jaime Fink, co-founder and chief product officer at Mimosa.

“The Mimosa MircoPoP architecture offers a unique opportunity for service providers of all sizes to reduce CAPEX and deliver a scalable, high-performance broadband network. They no longer have to dig trenches and try to bring cables underground, and can achieve the same speeds as fibre for a fraction of the cost.”

Mimosa is distributed in Southern Africa by Even Flow Distribution who, in partnership with Mimosa, will be running a technical seminar at iWeek on the Mimosa product range. Mimosa’s Keith Newton, the Sales Engineer for EMEA, will be providing a technical introduction to the new Mimosa A5 Access Points as well as a new licensed radio solution, the Mimosa B11.

Service Providers interested in attending iWeek can register on the event Web site http://www.iweek.org.za/, and subsequently are free to join the Mimosa technical session taking place at 9am – 11am on the 21st September 2016.
